Much more than Kickboxing cardio classes or a tae bo fitness workout HIT FIT will burn off unwanted calories and get you fit while helping you stay safe! Suitable for beginners or the experienced, these classes will boost your fitness, burn off calories and help you to become HATTON NOT FATTON.
HIT FIT classes are ideal for anyone wanting to get fit while learning some genuine self defence techniques. These classes are held at the Dance Workshop in Moseley on Wednesday evenings 7.30 – 8.30, go to the find us page for a map.
HIT FIT – Beginners Martial Arts
Not just about fitness, these classes are an ideal introduction to martial arts training. Beginners will learn the basics, while the more experienced can brush up their techniques while getting a challenging martial art fitness workout. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a drink of water!
While HIT FIT classes are NOT a complete self defence program, certain elements are included. You WILL learn to hit hard and escape simple holds
Also you will learn to use the basic martial arts weapons; fists, elbows, knees, shins and feet through striking pads. Pad drills will cover some basic self defence concepts which could be used in a sticky situation, such as:
- Hit and keep hitting – until it’s safe to stop!
- Strike and move – hit on the move, so you are difficult to get hold of
- Hit and run – hit then make your exit when it’s safe to do so
- Escape and hit – if grabbed, escape while striking
These drills and much more will be practised until you fully abosorb the skills.
HIT FIT and beyond………..
HIT FIT classes are great in themselves and you are welcome to come along and punch, kick and jump your way to fitness BUT after a few weeks people often want to try out our other Martial Arts classes where you can learn a whole range of more Martial Arts skills. Training in these classes will enable you to get stuck in and work your way up the belts, if you wish, by taking the regularly held gradings.
